Roads and Paths feature types

Feature type mapping between the OS MasterMap Highways Network – Roads and OS MasterMap Highways Network – Paths products and the OS NGD Transport Network Collection.

This page includes feature type mappings from the OS MasterMap Highways Network – Roads and OS MasterMap Highways Network – Paths products to the corresponding feature types found within the OS National Geographic Database (OS NGD) Transport Network Collection. Each feature type has a sub-page with detailed attribution mapping from OS MasterMap (OSMM) Highways Network to OS NGD.

The following feature types are covered:

The OSMM Highways Network Connecting Link Feature Type has a corresponding feature type in OS NGD, also called Connecting Link, which is part of the Transport Network Collection.

Connecting Node

The OSMM Highways Network Connecting Node Feature Type has a corresponding feature type in OS NGD, also called Connecting Node, which is part of the Transport Network Collection.

The OSMM Highways Network Ferry Link Feature Type has a corresponding feature type in OS NGD, also called Ferry Link, which is part of the Transport Network Collection.

In OSMM Highways Network, vehicular and foot ferries are split across the three different products. 'Vehicular ferry links' are included in Roads as well as Routing and Asset Management Information (RAMI), whereas 'foot ferry links' are found in Paths. OS NGD Ferry Link combines the vehicular and foot ferry link features into a single feature type, with an attribute (vehicularferry) as an indicator of whether the ferry link represents a ferry that can be used by vehicles.
