This page provides an overview of the OS downloadable products available in the Areas and Zones Portfolio.

Areas and zones products

This portfolio provides administrative, electoral and analytical boundaries data plus built-up areas and postcode data. It enables spatial analysis, policy development and demographic profiling across Great Britain.

The following downloadable products are available within the Areas and Zones Portfolio:

Boundary-Line

An open dataset that represents every administrative and electoral boundary and their names for Great Britain.

Code-Point

A postcode locator that locates over 1.7 million postcode units in Great Britain and Northern Ireland – providing information about delivery points, positional quality, type and district codes amongst other data points.

N.B. This product will become End of Life on 31 March 2028 and will be withdrawn.

Code-Point Open

An open dataset of all 1.7 million postcode units in Great Britain.

A dataset providing the notional extent of every postcode in Great Britain for visualisation and analysis at a national scale.
