This page details upcoming data that will be provided for the new Bus Lane Description Value Code List in the OS NGD from the end of September 2025 to give you early insight. This code list is currently not available through the live access services. The information on this page is as accurate as possible, but is subject to change before launch.
This code list is used in association with the Description attribute which is present within the Bus Lane Feature Type. The code list describes the type of segregation of the lane.
Marking Segregated Bus And Cycle Lane
A Bus Lane that's separated from the rest of the road carriageway through the use of painted markings on the ground. There is a signed or painted exemption to permit cycling within the lane.

A Bus Lane that's separated from the rest of the road carriageway through the use of painted markings on the ground.
Physically Segregated Bus And Cycle Lane
A Bus Lane that's physically separated from the rest of the road carriageway and has a signed or painted exemption to permit cycling within the lane. The Bus Lane may have its own carriageway or may be separated from the rest of the road carriageway through the use of physical infrastructure, such as posts, kerbs, etc.
Physically Segregated Bus Lane
A Bus Lane that's physically separated from the rest of the road carriageway. The Bus Lane may have its own carriageway or may be separated from the rest of the road carriageway through the use of physical infrastructure, such as posts, kerbs, etc.
