This code list is used in association with the Description attribute which is present within the Region Feature Type. The code list describes the type of region (for example, English Region).

| Label           | Definition                                                                                                                                                                                                                         |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| English Region  | A historical administrative boundary abolished in 2011. Currently a high-level statistical unit used by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to provide data at a sub-England level for national and international statistics. |
| Scottish Region | A single high-level statistical unit used by the National Records of Scotland to provide data for Scotland for national and international statistics.                                                                              |
| Welsh Region    | A single high-level statistical unit used by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to provide data for Wales for national and international statistics.                                                                         |
