This page details upcoming data that will be provided for the new Retail Setting Value Code List in the OS NGD from the end of March 2026 to give you early insight. This code list is currently not available through the live access services. The information on this page is as accurate as possible, but is subject to change before launch.

This code list is used in association with the Retail Setting attribute which is present within the Retail Area Major Feature Type. This code list describes the retail setting assigned to the Retail Area Major feature.

Label	Definition
High Street	A classification based upon a machine learning technique that identifies retail areas that bear similar characteristics to a high street.
Retail Park	A classification based upon a machine learning technique that identifies retail areas that bear similar characteristics to a retail park.
Shopping Centre	A classification based upon a machine learning technique that identifies retail areas that bear similar characteristics to a shopping centre.
