# OS NGD Sample Data

There are now two options available for you to interact with OS NGD sample data:

* You can visualise sample data online through the [OS NGD Data Viewer](https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/88055eb5644e4d7aac88479c3f3e0a42/).
* You can download sample data (in GeoPackage or CSV formats) from the [OS Data Hub](https://osdatahub.os.uk/data/downloads/sample).

## OS NGD Data Viewer <a href="#november-2024-os-mastermap-product-viewer-tool" id="november-2024-os-mastermap-product-viewer-tool"></a>

An [OS NGD Data Viewer](https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/88055eb5644e4d7aac88479c3f3e0a42/) is available that lets you visualise product sample data online for three areas (Exeter, Newport and Inverness).

Sample data for most OS NGD feature types are available. The sample data always use the latest data schema version available for each feature type.

## Downloadable sample data

Sample data are available to download from the [OS Data Hub](https://osdatahub.os.uk/data/downloads/sample) for the following OS NGD collections:

### Things to note

* Sample data always use the latest data schema version available for each collection.&#x20;
* Sample data for the collections are available in GeoPackage and CSV (comma-separated values) formats.
* One zip file of sample data is provided per collection. Within each of these zip files, the individual feature types for each collection are separated into their own folder.
* Sample data are not available for the OS Boundaries, OS Islands Address or OS NI Postcodes Collections.
* The standard sample data areas for each collection typically cover three 5km x 5km areas in Great Britain: Exeter (England), Newport (Wales) and Inverness (Scotland). Exceptions to the standard areas are highlighted in the note below.

### Exceptions to the standard sample data areas

* OS Transport Network Collection sample data are available for Sheffield, Newport and Inverness; there are no sample data for Exeter.
* OS Water Features Collection sample data are available for Plymouth, Newport and Inverness; there are no sample data for Exeter.

### Record counts will be zero for three feature types in sample data

Please note that as we're publishing three relatively small (5km x 5km) sample data areas for most of the collections, the following three feature types are not represented within these areas and their record counts will therefore be zero in the sample data:

* Landform Point (OS Land Features Collection)
* Maintenance Point (OS RAMI Collection)
* Railway Link Set (OS Transport Network Collection)
