Bus Lane Feature Type
Information about the Bus Lane Feature Type, including a description, use cases for the data, and key attribution.
The Bus Lane Feature Type can be found in the Transport Network Collection of the OS NGD Transport Theme. It provides line geometry depicting the approximate centreline of bus lanes. This tells you where bus lane infrastructure is located and gives you key information about Bus Lane features. Attribution provided for each Bus Lane feature also includes a description of the type of bus lane and whether it permits cycling.

Key attribution
Key attribution for the Bus Lane Feature Type includes:
Description: Provides a description of the type of bus lane and its segregation from the carriageway, as well as whether the bus lane permits shared usage for cycling (for example, 'Marking Segregated Bus Lane' and 'Physically Segregated Bus And Cycle Lane').
Modal Width: Provides an indication of the most representative width of the majority of the bus lane.
Minimum Width: Provides an indication of the narrowest point along the bus lane.
Direction: Indicates the direction of travel within the bus lane.
Link ID: Provides a reference to the Road Link the Bus Lane feature is related to.
Side Of Road: Indicates which side of the Road Link the Bus Lane feature is present on.
Parent ID: This is the identifier for the whole Bus Lane feature. Continuous Bus Lane features have been broken into separate bus lane links in line with the start and end of Road Links to enable a one-to-one relationship. The Parent ID attribute is used to join individual bus lane links back together to create the full Bus Lane feature.
