Definition
Brick Or Block Or Stone
The building is constructed from standard-size rectangular artificial blocks held together with mortar (known as masonry), including blocks composed of dried clay, cast concrete, cinder, clinker or other chemically cured construction blocks.
Concrete
The building has concrete panels or render over a masonry base and / or a concrete substructure.
Mixed (Masonry And Metal)
The building is constructed with a lower part of masonry and an upper part of steel, aluminium, tin or other metallic alloy material.
Mixed (Masonry And Timber)
The building is constructed with a mixture of timber frame and masonry wall, mostly applies to historical buildings.
Mixed (Plaster And Timber)
The building is constructed with a mixture of exposed masonry and plastered wall, mostly applies to historical buildings.
Other Artificial Material (Not Concrete)
The building is constructed, generally, of panels other than concrete, including plastic or composite. A very small percentage (~0.17%) of buildings have this. This is a catch-all classification for wall types that are not in other categories.
Other Non-Standard Or System Build
The building is of a construction type that deviates from standard buildings, with materials that don't conform to the standard. Non-standard buildings often use outdated and old-fashioned construction methods and materials.
Static Caravan Or Mobile Home
The building has been designed and constructed to be transportable by road in one or two sections. Once assembled it must be possible to move the building around site in one section and the structure must also remain divisible for road transport.
Metal
The building is cladded and / or framed with steel, aluminium, tin or other metallic alloy material.
Timber Or Wood
The building is timber cladded and / or timber framed.
Unknown
Construction material could not be determined, or has not yet been determined. Note that Unknown is only applied to buildings that are in scope of construction material capture.
