Points of Interest Product Amendments December 2024 Quarterly Update
This document details the data enhancements that are included within the December 2024 release of PointX data. PointX continually strives to improve its data holdings and this document highlights the specific changes made for the December 2024 release.
AddressBase® Core and OS MasterMap® Highways Network updated to the October 2024 versions.
Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) population has decreased slightly to 49.37% and the population of the UPRN priority classes has increased to 89.63% UPRN.
Further information on UPRNs priorities can be found in the user guide available on the PointX website.
Police stations have been updated utilising a new method of capture resulting in improved currency.
All London Boroughs have been updated to accurately reflect their official names.
PointX are focused on improving the currency of emergency service records and this will be reflected in current and future releases.
As mentioned in the December release note, PointX have shared their intention to include Latitude and Longitude within Points of Interest, along with the existing British National Grid References.
There are currently no plans to include Latitude and Longitude in the Points of Interest product available from Ordnance Survey. If including them would be helpful for you, please reach out to our Products team at: LPT@os.uk
PointX continues to use a URL reputation service to identify and remove any potentially malicious URLs from the product. However, it is recommended that the guidance as described in the user guide is followed in respect of the contents of the URL attribute.
All new or updated URL’s have been checked and refreshed to improve currency.
PointX continues to improve the positional accuracy of features and this quarter they have updated hundreds of records.
The next release of Points of Interest is scheduled for March 2025.
