April & May 2023: Local Authority changes in the GB Address Collection
In our addressing products, we provide information detailing which local authority an address is within. As of 01 April 2023, several local authorities have reorganised to form new authorities. This means that the local authority code for all addresses within the affected authorities will change from the old authority to the new one, resulting in larger than normal Change-Only Updates (COUs) for feature types in the GB Address Collection.
The Government Statistical Services (GSS) codes for the local authority areas will be updated in May 2023, again resulting in larger than normal Change-Only Updates (COUs) for feature types in the GB Address Collection.

April 2023: Site Feature Type in the Land Use Features Collection
Over the weekend of Friday 07 April to Monday 10 April 2023, we will be making significant updates to the Site Feature Type within the OS NGD Land Use Theme. These updates will involve populating the Primary UPRN attribute for a large number of features. This will generate a much larger than normal COU (Change-Only Update), which is expected to impact over 20 million records (across a Great Britain supply).
We will ensure that your supply is not interpreted if you are a daily COU customer, but it is expected that you will receive the COU later than normal due to the additional time it will take OS to publish the large number of changes. Once you have received the larger than normal COU, subsequent COUs for the Site Feature Type will return to normal levels.
You do not have to do anything regarding this update. Normal mechanisms will be used and you will receive your COU files as standard; they will just be larger than normal.
