Royal Mail Address Feature Type

The Royal Mail Address Feature Type (data schema version 1.0) was released 30 September 2025, providing 100% of Royal Mail Postcode Address File (PAF) with point geometry. At the same time the pre-existing OS NGD Address Feature Types (Built Address, Historic Address, Non-Addressable Object and Pre-Build Address) were also updated to a new data schema version (v3.0).

Prior to this release, Royal Mail PAF data was only available for matched addresses and supplied in the Feature Types' corresponding Postal Address Related Components.

The Postal Address Related Component has therefore been discontinued from the pre-existing Feature Types data schema version 3.0 but is still provided against the older (maintenance) data schema versions 1.0 and 2.0.

However, for complete coverage and ease of use it is recommended to use the new Royal Mail Address Feature Type.
