# accesslevelvalue

This code list is used in association with the Access Level attribute which is present within the Building Access Location Feature Type. The code list provides an indicator of the relative location of the access point with respect to ground level.

| Above Surface Level | Access to the building is at least one floor above the normal surface level, such as up steps, or a via a bridge from another building. |
| Below Surface Level | Access to the building is at least one floor below the normal surface level, such as down steps, down a ramp or underground. |
| Surface Level | Access to the building is at ground level and doesn’t require more than one floor level’s ascent or descent from ground level. Note that this has a subtly different meaning to the physicalLevel of ‘Surface Level’ applied to Building Part and other topographic features. |
