Definition
Hedge
Usually a row of shrubs, which may contain individual trees. A Hedge will rarely have an average height above 3.5 metres, a minimum width of 0.5 metres, and a maximum width of less than 20.0 metres. It has a continuous minimum length of 4.0 metres and any classified section less than 4.0 metres is ignored and subsumed into the surrounding classified sections based on the classification hierarchy.
Other
Classification has not conclusively identified a Tree Canopy, Wooded Strip, Hedge or Wall. These features are typically narrow fences, gates or young hedges below the minimum sizes, with a continuous minimum length of 5.0 metres. An βOtherβ classification less than 5.0 metres in length is ignored and subsumed into the surrounding classified sections based on the hierarchy.
Tree Canopy
A continuous row of vegetation canopy generally with an average height above 3.5 metres, a minimum width of 0.5 metres, and a maximum width of less than 20.0 metres. It has a continuous minimum length of 4.0 metres and less than 50.0 metres and any classified section less than 4.0 metres is ignored and subsumed into the surrounding classified sections based on the classification hierarchy.
Unknown
Classification of the feature has not yet occurred. Unknown features have a continuous minimum length of 5.0 metres.
Wall
Usually made with brick, stones or slate that fit firmly together, with or without mortar, for the purpose of dividing land parcels. A Wall does not have a height or width value and has a continuous length of 4.0 metres or more. Any classified section less than 4.0 metres is ignored and subsumed into the surrounding classified sections based on the hierarchy.
Wooded Strip
A continuous row of vegetation canopy, generally with an average height above 3.5 metres, a minimum width of 0.5 metres, and a maximum width of less than 20.0 metres.
