This code list is used in association with the Description attribute which is present within the Cartographic Rail Detail Feature Type. The code list describes if a rail feature is a railway buffer or railway rail.

| Label          | Definition                                                                                               |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Railway Buffer | Apparatus for deadening the impact of railway or tramway vehicles.                                       |
| Railway Rail   | Steel bar or continuous line of bars laid on the ground, usually as one of two, forming a railway track. |
